The Equipo Navazos La Bota de Pedro Ximenez #12 is great to compare with #11 above and actually was released with that in mind. This hails from Montilla, the other "sherry" region if you will. This is also pure PX but done in the style of Montilla. Perez Barquero is one of the great houses in Montilla and this is aged in barrels that are kept almost completely full and the resulting wine is sweeter and has lower alcohol than the PX from Jerez. The wine is roughly 25 to 27 years old. This is denser and packed with notes of dried, spiced fig bread and black walnut. Pair this with a simple bowl of vanilla ice cream and you will have created a transcendental dessert. 1400 bottles produced.
