2010 Trajarinho - Vinho Verde

The traditional style of Portuguese Vinho Verde is crisp and dry with residual effervescence. Typically these wines are non-vintage blends of numerous grape varieties. Trajarinho, from the same winemakers as the well loved Muralhas de Moncao is a vintage specific blend of Trajadura and Alvarinho. Put the two together and you get…Trajarinho (clever, no?). Bright grapefruit and lime flavors blend well with crisp mineral back notes and light but persistent spritzy effervescence. This is a quantum leap in quality from typical Vinho Verde but is still a great value.
