2010 Ameztoi Blanco - Txakoli

Ameztoi Txakoli is a perfect expression of the basque white wine style common in San Sebastian and all across the basque Country. Hondarribi Zuri grapes barely have a chance to ripen before harvest time along the cool, green Cantabrian coast. The resulting wine is light, flinty, slightly effervescent and grapefruit tart. Add some oiled cured cantabrian anchovies, a few pickled Guindilla peppers and a wedge of Basque sheep’s milk cheese and you are pretty much set.
