2009 Alvaro Palacios Camins del Priorat - Priorat

94 Points Robert Parker!  Alvaro Palacios is one of the most celebrated of Spanish winemakers. He was instrumental in the rejuvenation and subsequent popularity of wines from the Priorat region. The flagship wine from this bodega, called L'Ermita, sells for many hundreds of dollars. The second wine, Les Terrasses is, starting in 2007, sourced from exclusively old vine vineyards. The new Camins del Priorat is made up of the fruit of the estate's younger vines. After fermentation this wine spends a brief few months in oak berfore bottling. The result is a fresh, youthful, expressive version of Priorat red wine that still retains the opulent, rich character that the region is known for.
