Angel Giole's family has been working the same land for generations, tending to vines as well as other crops. His daughter, the winemaker for Valle de las Nencias, got her start in the business working in Napa for famed winemaker Tom Rinaldi (Duckhorn, Provenance). However, she decided to bag California and head back home to carry on the family tradition. The 2008 Valle de las Nencias Reserve Malbec is a new wine for us here at The Spanish Table but we're very, very, very, excited about it. It has aromas of dark red fruit, preserves, hints of vanilla spice, and blue violets. Take a sip and you have rich red fruit flavors of strawberries, plums, and blueberries. There are literally no holes in this wine. One of the best Malbecs I've tried in a long, long time.
