2006 Beronia Reserva Rioja

The outstanding 2005 Beronia Reserva from Rioja continues right on the heels of the superb 2004 vintage.  Beronia is owned by the Gonzalez Byass family that makes the world famous Tio Pepe. The 04 was a popular in the stores, and the 2005 has taken off with a bang.  The reserva is a classically styled Rioja, but with a bit more weight. Darker cherry, spice, earth, and smoke meld perfectly on this outstanding value priced Reserva. The Wine Spectator recently called this a Best Buy with 91 points, “This sleek red shows currant, licorice and smoke flavors in a racy texture, with light, firm tannins and bright orange peel acidity.
