2006 Aalto PS - Ribera del Duero

Mariano Garcia is one of Spain's most famous and highly regarded winemakers. He was the man behind Spain's most famous wine, Vega Sicilia for almost 30 years. Aalto is a winery where Mariano Garcia teams up with Javier Zaccagnini to to create a new standard for top quality Ribera del Duero wine produced exclusively from old vine Tinto Fino (the local version of Tempranillo).

The 2006 Aalto PS was rated at 96 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Jay Miller reviewed the wine and said: "The glass-staining 2006 Aalto PS was aged for 32 months in 70% new French oak. It emits a super-expressive aromatic array of pain grille, crushed stone, lavender, spice box, and blackberry. Firm and structured on the palate, it has a boatload of intense, succulent, spicy fruit, ripe tannin, and impeccable balance. Drink this lengthy, powerful effort from 2016 to 2036."
