2000 Bacalhoa Moscatel Roxo Moscatel de Setubal Portuguese Dessert Wine

The wines from Setabul in Portugal were once numbered in the world's greatest wines, but they have fallen from favor as many sweeter wines have. This is made with the rare Moscatel Roxo varietal, so named due to it's rose colored skin.  Warm, lively, spicy, citrussy nose. Fresh, pithy and nicely complex. The palate is fresh and alive with taut, dense sweet citrus and grape characters. Nice intensity and brilliant complexity with a long spicy finish.
