1994 Gran Reserva 890 - La Rioja Alta

La Rioja Alta is one of the three older wineries that continues to make outstanding older style Riojas. The 890 Gran Reserva is made only in the best vintages (ony 94 & 95 have been released so far out of the 90's). An impressive bottle of Rioja that is destined to age for several decades gracefully. Plush and velvety with notes of dried cherry and strawberry, spice and floral flavors. Long, sweet red fruit with just a touch of forest and wet pine note. Impressive stuff. Have this with braised lamb and you won't be disappointed.
