Amazing, stunning, so unique. All of these can be used to describe these beautiful aged Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva Blancos from our favorite Rioja producer, Lopez de Heredia. What I find fascinating is that these continue to bottled by hand, corked by hand and then sealed with wax all by hand. I've been fortunate enough to be there while they were doing it, so it's not just a story. Dried pear, exotic white flower, blanched almond, smoky earth, and lingering notes of spice. What's amazing is the brightness and acidity on this wine. It still seems young. Impressive length and an amazing treat. Do not drink this too cold or you lose all the complexity. Ideal is 50 to 60 degrees Farenheit.
