Quinta do Noval is probably one of the best known port houses, primarily for their declaring the 1931 vintage and making a Port that many experts consider one of the best ever made. In 1981 a huge fire ravished the winery destroying hundreds of thousands of liters of port and over two centuries of records. But like the phoenix it rose again under the hands of Cristiano Van Zeller and his sister Teresa. They renovated and built up the quality and reputation of the winery again. The 10 year Tawny is rich and smooth on the palate with elegant structure and a long finish. It can be served slightly chilled as an aperitif, as a digestive at the end of a meal, or in any occasion during the day on its own.
